My practice is to go to Best Buy only when the item is
not available elsewhere in town. And even then I may go online instead. EVERY time I've gone in there, that policy has been reinforced, by my overhearing one of the staff telling lies. Now, I do know a decent guy who works there, but it's obvious that management encourages dishonesty. Tonight it was to replace my lost iPhone. Told me that the protection policy was $45, and that it included a buyback option--after two years, 20% of _retail_ price. In the first six months, 50%. What? I can pay $150 for iPhone 4, and two months later sell it back to you for $300? Yep. OK, I'll take it. Sign there, please. $15 a month for 23 months?!? You said $45! $45 activates the plan, then it's $15 a month. Take it off! Sleazeballs.
