Hi!
In old Palm's HotSync with Treo 680, Vx, etc. with computers (Windows [XP, 2000, and 98 SE) and Mac OS X 10.5.8), one could control how to synchronize like PDA/Smartphone's datas overwrite computer's datas. Is this possible to do the same with the latest/newest iTunes and Mac OS X 10.5.8? Thank you in advance. ![]() -- "No, I'd prefer a cooler WITHOUT an ant-door, thank you..." --unknown /\___/\ Ant(Dude) @ http://antfarm.ma.cx (Personal Web Site) / /\ /\ \ Ant's Quality Foraged Links: http://aqfl.net | |o o| | \ _ / If crediting, then use Ant nickname and AQFL URL/link. To some extent: iTunes has options to force sync some types of data from the computer to the device, overwriting what is currently on the device. There is no mechanism to force the data on the device to overwrite that on the computer. In iTunes, select the device in the left column, then click on the Info tab and scroll down to the Advanced heading at the bottom. "Replace information on this iPhone" (or iPod/iPad) options are available for Contacts, Calendars, Mail Accounts, Bookmarks and Notes, provided the item in question is being synchronized by iTunes. -- David Empson dempson@actrix.gen.nz |

Thanks. I will look at that. Is there a way to do this without connecting the device? -- Quote of the Week: "Left right left right we're army ants. We swarm we fight. We have no home. We roam. If you want to ensure that the data on the device is not automatically synchronized BEFORE you get a chance to check this box, then there is a setting for that: iTunes > Preferences > Devices > Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically. Turn on that option and click OK before plugging in the device, then you can set the "Replace information" setting and do the sync manually by clicking on the Sync button. -- David Empson dempson@actrix.gen.nz |
