Default Re-syncing tracks

I recently migrated from a PC to a Mac. I made no attempt to export
my library, playlists, etc, but simply
moved the music over and started from scratch.

Of course, this meant when I first synced my iPhone, it saw it as a
different machine and just replaced
everything. It gave me a welcome chance to go through old music and
pick out the stuff
I wanted to put on the iPhone.

That all worked fine, but now each and every time I sync the iPhone,
87 tracks (out of >4000) get recopied.
It appears to always be the same tracks.

I can't think of anything special about these tracks. Like most of my
music, they were
ripped from my CD collection, so there are no license or encryption
issues.
They're stored in the same directory tree, and they don't get
touched in any way between syncs (it's not even stuff I listen to that
often). Why those
tracks and only those tracks get re-synced is a mystery.

It's not a big deal, because it goes pretty fast, but it is a bit
annoying if I'm in a hurry, and I'd
like to know what's going on.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
jc
