Default O2 upgrade

I'm with O2 and my contract expires on 3rd September. I have the iPhone 3G
and was originally thinking of then going on to the Simplicity tariff at £15
per month a £20 saving on my current tariff. Since having the problems with
the 3G with the new OS I am now thinking of upgrading to the 4G. Has anyone
any experience of if O2 will offer any deal for me to firstly stay with them
and then also upgrade to the 4G. The other option is of course to hang on
and see if the 'promised' software fix for the 3G emerges but of course
nobody knows when that will be. I could hazard a guess though that it will
be whenever I have upgraded and committed to another contract with O2 :-)

I been with O2 for years, before they was O2, always managed to get a
really good deal from them come renewal. This year NADA, they wasn't
having any of it. In the the end I brought a 3GS and went on the
simplicity plan, Got in 2 days before they started the 'limit' on web
use as well.

I quite like it yer, does all I want, clear screen, plenty of silly Apps
for it. Sound on calls is good.

Last 3 phones where HTC. I liked them as well, but the bigger screen on
the 3GS is a good thing for me.
