Default Numbers wants an upgrade not applicable to me

The App store is telling me that "Numbers" has an update waiting. If I
have other apps that also need to be updated, I cannot click on "update
all" because the "Numbers" one fails with "Can only be installed on IOS5
devices".

So I had to manually update each application tonight, with the "Numbers"
still flagged as needing an update.

Is there a way to tell my Iphone to no longer try to update Numbers so
that I could click on "update all" when there are many apps that need an
update ?

(I can't upgrade to ios5 until jailbreaking becomes available).

itunes will show you updates you can't run or that aren't actually
available (two longstanding bugs), but on the device itself it should
only show compatible updates.

I haven't lloked at iTunes update system closely enough to know, but you
can tell Mac OS X's Software Update application to ignore the ones you
don't want, so there might be something similar somewhere in iTunes' menu
options.

Jailbreaking for iOS 5 was reportedly available before iOS 5 was even
officialy released.

That's really annoying. My iPad is still on iOS4 and I'm
going through the same thing. I updated the iPhone, though,
so it's stopped on there.

That's not what happens. On the device, it shows incompatible
updates and then you cannot use the "update all" button. It's
a pain and annoying.

Plain Bread alone for e-mail, thanks. The rest gets trashed.

it is what happens for me. on all of my ios devices, only the apps that
can actually run are shown. some apps have just been updated to ios5
minimum and they are not shown on the devices running 4.3 or earlier.
it was the same for ios4 minimum apps and ios 3 devices.

on itunes though, it shows anything and everything, even though itunes
knows which devices you have and what firmware revs are installed.

I was using the app store application on the iPhone and it was telling
me that an update for "Numbers" (not applicable to my version of Ios)
was available.

This was not done via iTunes.

i don't have numbers but i am definitely not seeing a few apps on the
device that require a later version than what's currently running, but
do show up in itunes.

On my 4.3 iPhone the app store link shows app that can't be updated,
as mentioned earlier.
