Default Moving built-in apps to a folder

Just upgraded to 5.01 (not jailbroken yet).

Is it normal that it won't let me move "Newstand" to a folder ?

yes, because newstand is actually a folder itself.

Yeah that sucks. I have a folder called "News" and wanted to move
"Newstand" to "News." It won't let me do it. Nor will it allow me to move
anything into "Newstand" either. Bummer. I guess "Newstand" is a
restricted iOS folder.

Unfortunately, yes. It sucks, I know. Bad Apple!

Perhaps, but not life threatening. The New Year is upon us. Move on.

Yes, it's normal, but not immutable. I found a way to do it on several
sites, but couldn't get it to work for me, but I'm not terribly quick.
Supposedly, you can create a folder, then drag an app into it, then as the
folder "closes", you can, if you move quickly enough, drag Newstand into
the folder. If you're a little quicker than I, which isn't hard, you might
get it to work.

except that newstand will crash the moment you launch it from within a
folder since ios does not support folders within folders.

Lossless compression for those of us that want to tuck it away in a Junk
folder along with all the other useless apps that Apple doesn't let us
remove.

But a useful thing to know for those who want to group it usefully with
similarly related applications.

I just did it. It's all in the timing. You have to grab the Newsstand
app icon while the new folder is being created and opened. Then you drop
Newsstand into the opened folder.

Thanks for the tip! : )
