I was pretty amazed at the capabilities of the 3G when it came out (got it opening day) but didn't see any compelling reason to upgrade to a 3GS. The 4, on the other hand, was every bit as exciting as the 3. The screen blew me away; dramatically-better readability to my 55-year-old eyes (ok, 54 then). And it was FAST (relative to the 3). I literally stopped reading newspapers and used the iPhone instead, almost overnight. It met & exceeded my expecations. It essentially worked as advertised (meaning that the demos you'd see Steve Jobs or a TV advertisement show worked just as fast and responsively in real life, something that rarely happens. Sadly, my iPhone4 was pick-pocked in France this past July, so I'm now using my old 3G and let me tell you, life sucks. Not really, but really. It's "just" a phone with some utilities. It isn't responsive enough to integrate into "real life" (the camera is even slower and resolution really poor, scrolling web pages is jerky, text hard to read and apps that, on an iPhone4 can sit in the background and sip from the battery are forced to the foreground and eat the battery alive in no time). So yeah, I'm excited and almost "needy" regarding the new iPhone. >The next iPhone to get me > excited will have to pass the Turing Test in 12 esoteric subjects in > 12 > obscure languages. I'll be quite happy if it's little more than an updated iPhone4. I've seen the past, first-hand. It's not so fun. > > Davoud > > -- > I agree with almost everything that you have said and almost > everything that > you will say in your entire life. > > usenet *at* davidillig dawt cawm --Mike-- Chain Reaction Bicycles www.ChainReactionBicycles.com "Davoud" <star@sky.net> wrote in message news:300920112242077541%star@sky.net... > JF Mezei: > >> OK, October 4 is coming soon. >> >> >> What will you be watching on that day to get accurate information on >> what the next iphone will have ? > > Sorry, but I won't be watching anything.
