All I had to do was add a new ringtone to >iTunes. The next time I synced, all of them were transferred. Just tried un checking some and checking others staying with a total of 16 ringtones that I liked best. When done I only had about 11 ringtones on the phone???? So I re-checked all the ringtones and had about 38 of 48 after syncing. Then I unchecked everything to see if all the ringtones would disappear from the phone. They did. So I selected all the ringtones and I finally got all 48 of them. What appears to have happened was this. There must be a some sort of index file on the iPhone that keeps track of what ringtones are on the phone. After upgrading to iOS5 some ringtones were lost for some unknown reason but the index file remained intact showing all ringtones present. So when I went to sync the index file instructed iTunes to not transfer any ringtones because they were not needed. I needed to reset the index file to zero by removing all the ringtones. Then transfer all after the file was zeroed. |

Actually, now that you mention it, I remember now that I turned off ringtone syncing and turned it back on as well. -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me.
