Default iCloud backup fails

I just upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS5 last night. The only problem (so
far) is that
whenever I try to enable "Backup to iCloud", I immediately get a
splash that
says "Backup to iCloud failed" with an option to try again (which just
repeatedly
fails) or cancel.

I'd like to get this working, because the backup to the computer seems
to take
quite a bit longer now, and is annoying getting annoying if I'm in a
hurry.

My assumption is that their servers are swamped at the moment
and the problem will solve itself, but should I be looking for
a deeper problem?

Thanks,
jc

PS. Please do NOT respond that my uname and password are incorrect.
They're not.

I'm getting the same thing with my iPad, which I just upgraded to iOS5
today. Very annoying, to say the least.

OK. As long as it's happening to other folks, I'll assume it's either
a
server problem caused by high traffic, or a genuine bug which will
be fixed with 5.0.1. In any event, I won't worry about it for a week
or so.

Thanks,
jc

As I suspected, it magically started working this evening.

Everyone is updating their Apple products... Don't rush to try new
things now...
