Default How do I create folders to file emails into?

I retrieve emails from my ISP's POP3 server.

I see that the iPhone's Mail app allows me to move an email to a
folder, but the only three folders are "Inbox," "Sent" and "Trash."

Where do I create new folders?

Thanks.

With POP3, probably nowhere. POP3 doesn't let you do that.
If your ISP supports IMAP, use that, because it will.

That's odd. It doesn't seem like it would cost the iPhone much to let
me make some local "folders" in its Mail program.

That's true, but I guess it just doesn't work that way. I would expect
that most people are using their iPhone as a secondary mail device,
i.e. to read a mailbox on the move that they generally usually use a
desktop computer to read. If you created local folders on the iPhone
that weren't visible on the desktop computer, I think this would
confuse people greatly.
