Some can change by "reverse pinch" and some can't. AFAIK, no way at all to affect all from a system screen. -- Wes Groleau First Language Acquisition observed up—close & personal http://Ideas.Lang-Learn.us/barrett?itemid=1349 |

I almost hate to interrupt your rant, but I am 57 and have no problem with either of those fields. Last time I checked, my vision was about 20/700 but my glasses work OK. Now, there are OTHER places on the device where I have to remove my glasses and hold the thing three inches from my eyes. -- Wes Groleau First Language Acquisition observed up—close & personal http://Ideas.Lang-Learn.us/barrett?itemid=1349 |

Aside from the other suggestions, when is your friend due for an upgrade? The iPhone 4 and 4s have higher-resolution displays that make the text easier to read even at smaller sizes. If this is a possibility, visit an Apple store and compare the 3GS screen to one of the newer ones to see if it's enough to matter. -- Tom "Tom" Harrington Independent Mac OS X developer since 2002 http://www.atomicbird.com/ |

There might also be iPhone cases around that magnify the display ... could be a market niche some manufacturer might want to get into since most countries are moving to an older average age. |
