Default Blackberry delays: waiting for LTE chips

This past week, RIM corrected the story about the delay for their next
phone. The excuse is no longer due to software development but rather
that they are waiting for a "dual core LTE chipset".

I am not sure if their PR dept have a clue or not. However, if RIM is
truly waiting for next generation LTE chips and they woNt be ready until
end of 2012, what does that say about the next iPhone ?

Just wondering if the 4s may have a longer life than I had expected with
its successor aimed towards late 2012 instead of june.

That Apple has first dibs on the chips, and there won't be any available
for RIM until after Apple gets all that it needs.

There is a very good chance that the iPhone 5 won't be out until September
of next year because it would be a year since the iPhone 4S was released.

But why sweat it? It will be out when it's out.

I agree, the most likely next iPhone will be next fall, Sep or Oct, one
year after this last one. They had to delay the 4S for various reasons, and
it seems that the fall makes more sense from a marketing perspective, since
it's closer to Christmas and it will be a more desireable gift if it's
still pretty new for the holidays.

Then again, Apple could announce the iPhone 5 tomorrow. They do what they
do, and, strangely, they don't consult me. But I'm pretty confident they'll
let us know when they're ready, whenever that is.

They don't consult me either, fools as they are. If they would consult you
and me, they'd probably double their profits.

Or go bankrupt! I'm the genius that, when I first saw the Pet Rock, thought
it was the dumbest idea I ever heard.

It's probably not the dumbest, but it's got to be in the top 100. Still,
few have lost money betting on their customer's stupidity.

"dumb idea" <> "low profits". The only way the margin on those could
have been any better would be if they had used actual rocks instead of
casting them.

So Kim Jung Ill shows up at the barbecue. "Wait,"
says Qadaffi, "you don't have any peircings." "If you
starve your people enough they'll be too weak to rebbel."
"You have the same number of holes in your head as when
you were born," says bin Laden. "My compound had radar
and antiacraft misslles." "Your neck," shouted Hussein,
"it's the same length." "I didn't piss on W's father."
"Then what happened?" the three asked. "Damned counterfiet
Lipitor and insulin!"

Casting might well be cheaper than having humans pick through real rocks
to find appropriate sizes/shapes and dealing with transportation from
various sources vs one factory.

Drives under bridge in large pickup. "Hey guys, I got $10 bucks and a
bottle of Maker's to bring me a <> load of fist sized rocks. Guy
brings me the most gets $25."

But yeah, point taken.

Sorry for the late reply but work has had me in areas of the world
without anything that even looks like Edge, never mind internet.
