as has been discussed, not using itunes does nothing than make the
process more complex than necessary. with itunes, it's just a couple of
clicks and works quite well.

deep dark documentation? seriously? it's a couple of clicks.

enable ringtone syncing, pick the ringtones you want and then click
sync. done. it will take less time than it took to post this message.
