Default Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 Released

The iPhone Dev Team has released the much-anticipated untethered
jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad 1, iPod touch 3G,
iPod touch 4G:

<http://blog.iphone-dev.org/>

Pay special attention to the instructions in the "Here are the basic
steps for how to get it" section - especially if you are currently using
a tethered or semi-tethered jailbreak.

The team is still working on an untethered jailbreak for A5 devices
(iPhone 4S, iPad 2, and newer devices).

Thanks, I did it today. Couple of reboots and it worked
perfectly. Do you use an app to backup your Cydia apps and settings
tweaks? I found with this JB that I needed to redo a couple of things
like SB settings, etc.

Nope, I just re-install whatever Cydia apps I had before manually. I
don't use that many.

Take a look at OPENBackup in Cydia. Works well, nice design, does
the trick in a few seconds.
