Default Troubles after upgrading to iOS 5

Hi all!

After upgrading my iPad2 to iOS 5.0 I am no longer able to live-listen to my
preferred radio (radio3.rai.it) and cannot use my home banking because
they say the certificate is missing...
Up to yesterday everything worked so nicely ;(
Unluckily enough I didn't backup the old system because there was no
space available on my Notebook. As to the bank certificate, I do
remember to have downloaded an apps (not from Apple store) but cannot
remeber the name (but no jailbreak was necessary to install it).
Can some of you help me please?

Thanks for your attention,
ennio

Check for upgrades in the app store for these app programs.

Thank you, Brian, but as you can see above I do not know the name of the
app: how can I look for its upgrade?

if you downloaded an app and did not jailbreak, it was from the app
store.

if that app no longer works and there is no update to fix the problem,
contact the bank.

Go to the App store and tap the Updates button. If there are any
unapplied updates, they will be shown on the display.

Thanks Tom,
that's clearer: however there are no unapplied updates.
I fear that the app I downloaded (not from App store, but it was a .dmg
file coming from either freshmeat or sourceforge or similar) was wiped
off by iOS 5...
So the question is: has any of you ever encountered an application that
facilitated ssl connections so that the certificate could be recognized
by the server?

iOS 5 can do nothing to or with a .dmg file. Those are disk image files
and can only be opened on a Mac.

Dmg files are not applications but are containers for applications or
their installers. My advice would go back to your bank's website
support and re-download the application.

Mmmmh, I remember doing that directely from iPad: there was a link in a
message suggesting to download that application to allow iPad to
correctly read certificates (more or less so...)
Anyway, what intrigues me is that I don't know whether iOS 5.0 destroyed
the previous iOS 4.3 and any application I might have downloaded or that
it just prevents that unknown application (if it is still there) to work
properly under the new OS. The only certain fact is that - despite my bank
saying Safari is not supported(*) - I was able to connect for the last
couple of months with my iPad.

Thanks for your time

(*) AAOF I cannot connect from MacBook using Safari but have to use
Firefox
