Default Switching to a new Desktop

I've got a new computer. Windows 7.
How do I transfer a full iTunes account across? I want everything to
move, and then I can give the old computer away.

I've used the following procedure to move my iTunes between Windows
machines and between Windows machines & Macs:

Run iTunes once and burn a CD. Close iTunes. Look around to see
where your iTunes directories are. Copy the full directories from
one computer to the other however you want, overwriting the new
computer's directory.

Open iTunes on the new machine.

Wow, that sounds super-shortcut!
But if it's worked for you I feel inclined to follow.
Two questions;
1. Where do I burn the CD from?
2. Give me a list of the relevant iTunes directories.

This is fairly easy for music, but finding books is something I've yet to
solve. I know that iTunes points to Calibre for most of my books since I used
Calibre to load most of them, but I've not found the books downloaded from
Apple. I've looked in My Music, My Documents, and ITunes. No joy.

I didn't burn any CD, my iTunes library is much too large for that.
The easiest way to copy a lot of data is using your home LAN, but
portable disk drives work.

Oh, I remembered, there can be a problem with this. If you don't
have your music copied into iTunes' library when you play it, the
music will be all over the place. That is an iTunes advanced
preference setting or two. I'll assume it is.

Open My Documents, then My Music, and there will be a folder called
iTunes. That's the folder that needs moving.

Let me see...
I'm opening up a Windows VM, and starting iTunes.
Right click a song and then "Show in Windows Folder". That song
should be in a subfolder of the iTunes folder. Hopefully *all* of
your songs will be there. If not, you may wish to set iTunes to
copy music, and then select and play all of your songs to copy them
there.

Jeez, Howard, your iPad must be in one hell of a state if you flounder
around like that. I thought you'd discovered some programmer's shortcut,
but it sounds more like mayhem.

Here's the way I'm planning to do it; after transferring all my photos,
videos, music, books and other stuff to the new machine by LAN.

I would expect so. I'd search for a book to find out.

But that only works for books that iTunes sees. Books that were
loaded in the Kindle or Stanza or Kobo app are harder to find. I
would copy the iTunes folder and then test.

But just to be safe, never delete a purchased book from Calibre's
library.

Apple has this well documented:
