Default software update

When i look for the IOS update option there is nothing to find. Neither
on the iPad (version 4.3.3 and iPad 1) nor with itunes.

iTunes tells me when working with my Xp notebook, that there is a newer
version of iTunes. After downloading and starting the setup it works a
while and then says that there is a point in my Xp that makes the update
impossible. I should contact my system administrator (myself). But there
is no information about the real problem.
Does anyone know how to do?

if you have a virus program running, try disabling it while you do the
update.

Try running iTunes as a administrator by right clicking on iTunes before
you ran it.
Also close down program's running in the background.
