As far as I'm concerned, if money keeps you from going to jail,
it's the same thing.

Guidelines for judging others:
1. Don't attribute to malice that which
can be adequately explained by stupidity.
2. Don't attribute to stupidity that which
can be adequately explained by ignorance.
3. Don't attribute to ignorance that which
can be adequately explained by misunderstanding.
4. Don't attribute to misunderstanding that which
can be adequately explained by alcohol.

To me, there is a difference between a better lawyer increasing your
odds of getting off, vs literally buying your way out.

Ideally everyone should have access to a great lawyer, but it's
obviously not possible in the real world. Still, it's a goal.

Conversely, allowing any jail sentence to be exchanged for a fine simply
doesn't work at all.

New York Times had a very negative article about Apple/Foxconn practices
in China.

BTW, Aluminium dust is what powers the solid rocket boosters on the
Shuttle and other solid rockets.

The picture this article paints is not kind to Apple. And because the
New York Times is influencal, this really doesn't help Apple's image.

I bet Dell, HP and all the others are very happy that the bad press is
all aimed at Apple and not them.

It's always aimed at the big guy. IBM was most criticized, then
Microsoft, and now Apple.

It's like the most hated sports teams are the ones that have won the
most.
