I would like to download some youtube videos to my 1st gen ipad.
Is there a FREE program in the app store that will allow me to do this?

There is the YouTube app that is already on iPads.

I can only download them to watch OFF line on my laptop, then sync them to
the iPad. Where do you see a way to do it directly?

I've been looking for a app that does this for a long time. I have a
feeling that due to some YouTube license Apple won't allow YouTube videos
to be downloaded.

there are some apps that download youtube videos on the device but i
don't remember what they're called. i tried one or two of them but
didn't really have a use for it and long since removed them.

Just tried it with on an iPad 2 with Downloader and I've saved a Youtube
video.
Downloader Free puts a ten second delay before it starts a download.
