Default How many physical devices does an iPad replace?

I got to thinking about just how many physical devices my iPad has
replaced.

1. Of course, it replaced my bulky laptop computer on trips.

2. It replaced my stand-alone Garmin GPS receiver.

3. It replaced my stand-alone calculator. There are several excellent
calculator apps available out there.

4. It replaced a portable radio: The programs I listen too are available
via podcast.

5. The camera on the iPad2 could replace a small digital camera.

Are there any other physical devices you can think of that the iPad can
replace?

Gary

It didn't replace any of the above for me except for #1, but I have a
wi-fi iPad 1.

It has replaced my library when I'm away from home.

It replaces Day Timers.

It's a grandchildren bribe.

And I never play Angry Birds with real birds anymore.

I don't take my iPod around anymore (It is plugged into the radio by
my bed).

It replaces a picture album and film projector when I show off
pictures and videos of my grandchildren.

Not for me. My Macbook isn't that bulky anyway, and I still do things
on it the iPad can't do.

Unfortunately, Apple refuses to sell me GPS without 3G.

I haven't had one of those for ages. If I couldn't do it in my head,
I used Excel. So, for me, the iPad replaced Excel. :-)

Digital picture frame. Book. Flashcards. Video games. Appointment
book. Clock.

Ironically, other than the "bulky laptop", the iPad is larger than the
equipment it's replacing! Sort of like saying "I've been able to
replace my camping tent with this nice 3-bedroom house!"

I replaced all of that stuff you mentioned with smartphones long ago,
with the aim of carrying less/smaller stuff.

It's not larger than *all* of the equipment it's replacing. It's
like saying "I've been able to replace my camping tent, and my
outhouse, and my rental cabin, and my rental kitchen, and my rental
garage and the public baths, etc... with this nice 3-bedroom house".

Other than the laptop, the iPad is larger than typical examples of the
devices it's replacing *combined*, and much larger than any individually.
(I'm speaking only of Gary's list above- not some of the other
suggestions that followed.)

You'd have to try really hard to find large enough examples of a portable
radio, GPS, P&S camera (given the quality of the iPad camera, I'm
assuming we're not replacing a DSLR with it!) and pocket calculator that
would be bulkier in aggregate than an iPad.
