Default How does iCal synchronization work?

I have mobile.me. Yesterday, my wife noticed that my checkup
appointment wasn't on iCal. So I looked on my computer, it wasn't
there. I checked to see if I had put it in the wrong month, but it
wasn't anywhere. So I added it. Both times I added it on my Mac.

We went to the Doctor's, and discovered that the appointment was next
month. I opened my Wi-Fi iPad, and I found two copies of the
appointment for yesterday on it. Odd, I figure one was the original
and one was the one I had just added.

I changed one appointment to next month, and deleted the duplicate.

I went home, where my iPad connected to the Wi-Fi. This morning,
our computers' iCals had 2 appointments for yesterday, and none for
next month. I plugged in my iPad and synchronized it. No change,
our computers still have 2 appointments for yesterday and none for
next month, while the iPad has zero appointments for yesterday and one
for next month.

I usually make all my additions and changes on my computer and they
propagate correctly.

My iPad Calendar setting is set with:
New Invitations On
Sync Events 1 Month Back
Time Zone Support Denver
Default Calendar Calendar (From My Mac)

Any idea what's going on?

I played a round of golf, came back, and everything is synchronized
correctly.

I've noticed that if I've added the same item to both laptop and iPad
separately, I have two entries after sync.

I didn't know golf was required to initiate a sync, but it could be a lot
worse!

apple is on the cutting edge of new user interface paradigms but you
are right, it could have been bowling.
