Default Getting a book from Stanza to Calibre

I noticed I have at least one book on Stanza that is missing on
Calibre on my Mac. I would like to copy it to my Mac where it gets
backed up.

I tried to find it on my Mac using Spotlight. No luck using it by
name, nor by entering some text from the book.

I plugged my iPad in, and looked in iTunes under Devices/Howard
Brazee's Ipad/Apps/File Sharing/Stanza, but as always, nothing
displays there.

Any suggestions?

Default Getting a book from Stanza to Calibre

Today I wanted a .pdf available on my iPad. I first dragged it to
the GoodReader app in File Sharing, but GoodReader said it is
corrupted.

I also dragged it to DropBox, and then opened DropBox on my Wi-Fi
iPad. After I opened it on my iPad, I saw that I could open it with
Stanza. I did so.

Then I plugged my iPad into my computer and decided to look in the
Apps/File Sharing/Stanza Documents. I still don't see any
documents, but I see a folder named "inbox". Single or Double
clicking on that doesn't do anything. That folder has a time and
date from when I loaded the .pdf.

I wonder what it is telling me.

Do you mean that you wanted to copy it from your computer to your iPad?
You could use iTunes and synch. Or you could email it to an account that's
on the iPad. The iOS mail app will let you then open it with any app that
can read PDFs.

It doesn't matter, I just wanted to have it available to read, even if
I'm not connected to wi-fi. Saving it from Drop Box to Stanza
appeared to do what I wanted.

Apparently some people can look in iTunes and see what documents can
be seen in Stanza with the iPad connected. I can't. I used to be
able to see nothing, now I see that inbox, but can't open it.

Well, if you want to use Stanza, sure, that's one way. Emailing is
another. iTunes and emailing will let you read the PDF in iBooks.

While iBooks is far and away my preferred e-book reader, I would
recommend giving Bookman Lite (free) or Bookman a shot. In addition to
being the best comicbook reader I've found for the iPad, it/they make
reading PDFs a delight.

What is the difference in result between e-mailing it to me or using
drop box? Once I get it to my iPad, I open it, and save it to some
reader, so that I don't need to keep my e-mail nor my dropbox
connection.

I haven't tried them, and it appears that Stanza was purchased to be
allowed to die. So what's the difference between the two Bookman
apps?

Lite is free, but displays some advertising. Both are very fast and
render content extremely well.

That the pdf is corrupted.
