Default External GPS for Ipad2 which has an external antenna input and also supports NMEA

External GPS for Ipad2 which has an external antenna input and also
supports NMEA...

Is there such a device?

I would like an SMA or similar connector for an active antenna.

Some do support NMEA but one cannot tell from the specs if they will
drive an Ipad and a standard NMEA (windoze tablet e.g.) device
concurrently.

That would just break right off pretty quickly. That connector is
flimsy.

What I need is a bluetooth connected GPS.

it's not flimsy at all, but you could get an extension cable.

But there are BT GPSs which are official. Just none with an external
antenna input.

Are you saying that with a JB one can use a normal NMEA GPS?

officially work with the ipad? which ones?

the problem is there's no bluetooth serial profile, so you have to add
it and that can only be done by jailbreaking.

Why didn't apple provide one? It is so stupid to block out a decade's
worth of GPS development.
