Default Deleting an e-mail address

When sending an e-mail from my iPad, an obsolete e-mail address came
up. I had already eliminated it from my address app and from my mail
app on my Mac, but it still comes up on my synchronized iPad's mail.

Where can I find and delete it?

It's in the iPad's equivalent of the Mac OS mail.app's "Previous
Recipients", but to the best of my knowledge, you can't edit it as you can
with Mac OS X.

Maybe it's synced over from the Mac's previous recipients list.
H - are you syncing mail accounts from the Mac or have you
simply set them up by hand on the iPad?

If you are syncing them from the Mac, go to the Mac and
try cleansing the previous recipients list and then re-syncing.

You'll find the list under Mail's Window menu.

Plain Bread alone for e-mail, thanks. The rest gets trashed.

After your post, I got a quick answer from Apple:

"Unfortunately you can't remove them. They will continue to pop up and
you will just have to ignore them. The mail app on the iPad does not
rely on email address from your address book or contacts but rather
"remembers" email addresses that you previously typed or responded to
or received mail from."

....so if some poor soul desperately needs to get rid of an ex's email addy,
he/she has no choice other than to trash their ipad?

That is absolutely pathetic!

I can see lots of people accidentally sending e-mails to someone's old
address.

Why would anyone "desperately need" that. All they would really need
is to be a little more careful not to send to it.

If they are unable to keep from inadvertently using the address,
they could delete all contacts and e-mail accounts from the iPad,
then re-sync them from a Mac or PC that does not contain that address.

Is that what you call "trashing" ?
