Default Bluetooth Connection

I don't recall this topic so if I'm resurrecting an old one, apologies.

I've recently gotten a Sony bluetooth headset.

I've linked it to the iPad and am quite pleased with the result.

However, I have to go into the General Settings to reconnect each time I've
turned the headset off and want to start listening again. The headset is
listed as a bluetooth device, I just have to reconnect it. It seems to me
that the iPad should be able to recognize the headset without having to do a
reconnect.

Is this normal, or am I missing something?

Thanks.

Hi Carl,

Yup, have to reconnect my Sony BT55s each time I turn them on (along
with the other Bluetooth devices I have).

Normal procedure.

Cheers

Strange..

I own a bluetooth wireless speakersystem, and it connects
automatically whenever I get near it, or when I switch it on using the
remote. The same remote also controls iPod navigation.

No manual reconnect required. It just takes over the audio.

A different BT stack implementation?

However (and aside), I find that BT and Wifi bite each other. iPod
music will work perfectly, streaming radio will not (wifi hangs up
after a few minutes though signal is strong)

Thanks.

I suspect that it's a possibility that it's Sony's implementation since the
other responder indicated the same thing with a different Sony headset.

Not a killer. Just thought it was odd.
