Default Vote for your preferred Apple II recent software

Dear All,
Without some of the recent software I will list below, I would not
have came back to the Apple II world. Now, I would like to thank their
developers for the good work they did, so thanks to...

- Sweet16 by Eric Sheperd
That wonderful program for Mac OS X makes my main machine virtual.
With the FR keyboard support, I admit I barely use my real IIgs.

- ADTPro by David Schmidt
Another fantastic transfer program (bootstrap, simple transfer by
serial or ethernet means) - That offers a link between real and
virtual machines.

- MountIt by Brutal Deluxe
This is not because that software is mine but because it allows real
or virtual machines access disk images directly without the need for
real floppy disks, that is a great improvement when times make those
disks rare.

I know there are plenty of other great software and your preferred
list will depend on one's preferences but I'm curious, what will be
yours?

Next question, what is the missing Apple II software in our today's
world? Integrated Development Environment, Games, Productive software,
Internet suite?

Antoine

I crossdevelop, generally. Games? I'd love to see more games on the ][.
Productivity? Is there really anything better than AppleWorks for that?
Internet software, OH YEAH (but I need an Ethernet card for my //e first!)

Ethernet?! I'd just be happy getting SLIP to work. I managed to shoe-horn
Marinetti on to an 800k disk, intending to do SLIP on a Power Mac G3 with
built-in serial ports and OS X 10.2. No go so far. If anyone has experience,
I'd appreciate an email.

Definitely! And Virtual ][ as well.

I would love to see some Super Nintendo-type games for the Apple IIgs.
Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc. Maybe not exact clones, but games made in the
style of those classic Nintendo franchises.

I think that's (SLIP) how one of my friends suggested I should test
internetting from my //e...

Printing via TCP/IP, specifically the HP JetDirect/Port 9100 protocol.
Appletalk networked printers are getting harder to find as its being
phased out. Every network printer will accept data on port 9100 though.
Should be fairly straight forward to implement (CDev to config port/IP
and a DirectConnect printer port driver), but I lack the GS/OS dev tools
and experience.

While on the subject of printing... some modern GS/OS printer drivers. A
color Postscript or PCL5 driver would be nice and work with a large
variety of printers. Really something more updated then what Harmonie or
Independence came with.

SMB/CIFS file sharing would be cool too. Once again, Apple is phasing
out Appleshare over Appletalk, while everything including Windows talks
SMB. Don't know how lightweight of a client can be made for it though.
Doesn't need things like domain access, just simple access to drive shares.

On hardware, I'm a huge fan of the Uthernet card and all software -
Adtpro, Contiki, etc. - I can use to transfer with Uther.
