Preferred Recent Software: Virtual ][, ADTPro, cc65.

Preferred Resurrected Software: Aztec C and Aztec C for CP/M.

Missing: Hard to say. With Virtual ][ I have virtually everything.

Adding on to a previous port - I don't know anything about programming
tcp/ip stuff (though a friend's worked with uip, I think) ... but I'm really
thinking a nice standalone irc client that runs on ProDOS would be the bee's
knees and I'd prolly try to write it myself. xD

I'm a fan of some recent cross-development tools like these:

vm02 <http://sourceforge.net/projects/vm02/>
cc65 <http://www.cc65.org/>
xa <http://www.floodgap.com/retrotech/xa/>
ac <http://applecommander.sourceforge.net/>

Seconded... I especially like the name Sean.

Software I think is great:
* ADTPro (thanks David!)
* Ciderpress (thanks Andy!)
* MountIt (thanks Antoine!)

But, just this week I lashed out and finally got myself a Uthernet. So
my favourite software now includes:
* Marinetti (thanks Richard and Andrew and contributors!)
* Snap (thanks Ewen!)
* Safe2 (thanks Ewen!)
* SAM2 (thanks Ewen!)

And a shameless plug for myself:
* Colouring for the IIgs (thanks to me!)

Even though I haven't gotten around to using it yet, a big honourable
mention goes to:
* VM02 (thanks Dave - this was an awesome feat to get Java on A2!)

I agree that I'd like to see another web browser for GS/OS, and when I
get some time (and maybe finish some other stuff I've already
started), I plan to take a look into this.

Cheers,
Mike

Favorite Apple II Software:

1. ADTPro - making it possible to run software downloaded on the
Internet on the REAL hardware!
2. Sweet16 - When you can't use a real GS this is ABSOLUTELY the best
GS emulator!
3. Virtual II - The same as above but the BEST Apple II emulator!
4. MountIt - Can be used with either a REAL GS or GS emulator to mount
GS disk images from the GS desktop - need I say more!
5. ADFS - a Mac OS X version of Ciderpress (well sort of). Wish the
person who developed it would update it and make it capable of doing
more.
6. CiderPress - I agree with Sean that there needs to be a version of
this for OS X!

Missing/Needs to be written:
1. More Games! for both the GS and regular II.

Just my two cents worth,
Dean

Like many others:
ADTPro
CiderPress
AppleComander (though I don't use it as much as I could)

But unlike anyone else (apparently):
AppleWin - Thanks team! Not all the code is great, but it's open
source!

A better NIB format, and a version of ADTPro to grab them. ;-)
Might require extra hardware, e.g. the EDD+ card.

Cheers,
Nick.

Actually Nick, that's an excellent point! The development of *all*
emulators need to be highly commended as this has allowed those who
don't own the real hardware to tinker with our favourite system. And
even for those who do own the real hardware, it makes development on
these systems much more bearable due to the huge speed increase
available when running under emulation. I think because emulation has
become so "every day" we tend to forget about the incredible work done
in this area.

I agree, this would be good to see too - then we can archive protected
software titles in their original non-cracked format. Also if
emulators could be modified to use this new format directly. :-)

Cheers,
Mike

I forgot to add AppleCommander (ac). I use it to get cc65 binaries to
disk images. Thanks!
