Default Telnet BBS cable?

Looking for some advice/vendors on how to make a tenet bbs cable. I have
an old Apple IIe and an extra cffa card so I want to launch a retro bbs .
I did find a telnet to serial server that some c64 folks use for similar
purposes but I think I have cable pinout issues.

Any suggestions out there?

I suppose you put one side of the cable into the Apple IIe, but where
does the other end go into?

I've been playing with the same thought for a long time, only
different: I'd love to see Sweet16 to be able to accept a telnet
connection and forward it to a virtual modemport that the ProDOS 8
system (METAL/ FutureVision) will accept.

Mr Brad, seen recently here in csa2, has a setup as follows: Windows PC
with cable to Apple IIgs with (Null?) modem to BBS software. On the
Windows side he's got software running that will intercept the Telnet
calls and forward to the serial port.

Gr, D.

That's what I plan to do -- I have a null modem cable running to a virtual
machine through a serial to USB adapter. The problem is that the
communication is only one way at the moment. Commands can be sent to the
Apple II but nothing comes back through the cable out to telnet.

I was able to get a telnet connection as you describes above using KEGS or
maybe it was XGS. It wasn't completely reliable but it did let me log into
my AppleNet BBS for the first time in 20 years . I'd really like to run
this "new" one on actual hardware.

Default Telnet BBS cable?

I used to have The BoycoT BBS up and running...but there simply was not
enough interest to justify the time & effort to keep it running. It had
quite a few callers when I first announced it, but these were all one-time
lookey-loos.

A picture of it is here:
http://boycot.no-ip.com:6502/BoycoTBBS/BoycoTSetup.htm

I had it online using the "Internet Modem" program I wrote here:
http://boycot.no-ip.com:6502/InternetModem/

Later, I used an "Ethernet Modem" to connect it. The page on that is here:

Hi Terry - when I tried the links, got 404s. Maybe it's dynamic DNS, maybe it's the port forwarding?

I'd still like to put up an Apple II BBS myself at some point - more for fun and nostalgia if anything. The last Apple II boards I ran used ALFAIII/Prime and GBBS before I switched to PCs so I missed out on the ProLine and METAL stuff.

Your work has blazed the trail for me, so I didn't have to reinvent the wagon wheel. Thanks for that.

Try taking the port number out of the url (:6502) So it would be
http://boycot.no-ip.com/
