Default Space Coast Systems Challenger

Hi!

Just picked up a large lot of Apple II and Macintosh gear. Found
a IIfx in the lot which was a surprise. But the biggest surprise is a
Space Coast Systems Challenger, a unit a little like a Vulcan. I
found an ad for it but I'm wondering if anyone here has had any
experience with one.

Google turned up this hardware review:
http://books.google.com.au/books?id=...lenger&f=false

It sounds like quite an interesting bit of hardware. Nice find!

Cheers,
Mike

Aha, it's a review, not an ad. A search in this group found only
a message written by a Randy Shackelford in 1997. Apparently, his
message refers to that review.

The unit has an Apple power connector and a 28 pin female header.
Trying to figure out what the header would connect to. I'm starting
to think the header is supposed to connect to a card that hasn't
turned up yet, in the lot. I guess it's time to do more than just
glance at the review...

I've got a Space Coast Systems card .. never saw the drive.

....one would never know, but the irony would be if that was the only
one to ever exist. ;-)

The ribbon cable connects near the slot edge connector as opposed to
the leading edge like everything else.

I don't see it in the accessible box of hard disk controller cards.
