Default Request for info on Apple II Video Overlay Card

Hi,

I purchased an Apple II Video Overlay Card recently but it did not
come with any of the cables.

Does anyone know where I may be able to find information such as the
cable lengths and pictures of the cable ends? Schematics maybe?

Does the manual "Apple II Video Overlay Card Owner's Guide" have all
of this information in it?

I've had a good look around but can't find much information on the
card. I'm probably just not look in the right place.

Thanks,

Alex.

You could make an offer for my shrinkwrapped one. I won't open it to
see the cables, but it's n.i.b.

There should be something Google will find...

No it does not. Neither does the "Apple II Video Overlay Card
Developer Notes" - Although it does provide a functional block diagram
of the VOC and a pinout for the Video Expansion Bus connector on the
front edge of the card.

For posterity (nothing uses it that I know about) the AVEB pinouts
are:
1 /SQRFILTERENA
2 NC
3 /RGBENA
4 NC
5 RIN
6 NC
7 GIN
8 Gnd
9 BIN
10 Gnd
11 KEYIN
12 Gnd
13 /HSYNC
14 /VSYNC

However, "Apple II Video Overlay Card Developer Notes" does say
"The RGB output connector on the Apple II VOC corresponds to the
standard Apple IIgs DB-15 pinout converted to a ribbon block
connector. Consult Chapter 4 of the Apple IIgs Hardware Reference
Manual for details on the DB-15 connector."

The RGB cable is 16cm long including the pin block and db-15 block.
The Video cable is also a similar length. It goes to two RCA jacks.
The top jack is In and the bottom is Out. There appears to be only
three wires in this cable. It is a ribbon style cable but there is
extra plastic between each wire and the cable itself is stiffer than a
regular ribbon cable. My attempt to determine which pin went where was
inconclusive, but I will try an alternate method if necessary.

My card has numbers 820-0236-03 and 670-0236 A. I hope that's a PAL
card, but I don't know for sure.

Regards,
Andrew

Perfect.

This information and the only picture that I could find on the net
(Using google images came up with http://altern8.envy.nu/alt8/apple2/index2..html)
is all that I need now.

I should be able to work out the RCA jacks by trial and error.

Thank you very much Andrew. Greatly appreciated.

The three pin connector starting from the edge of the card is
Video in
Video out
Common (GND)

RGB cable uses DB15 Female IDC connector and 16 way IDC socket.
15 wire ribbon cable with pin 1 of both connectors connected to red
wire of ribbon cable.
