A.P.P.L.E. Server Upgrade
Over the next two to three weeks, you may notice some slowness when
accessing any domain run by A.P.P.L.E. or that reside on A.P.P.L.E.'s
server. This is due to our bi-annual server upgrade being performed
during this time frame. We normally perform this upgrade in September
when things are slower, however, due to the earthquake and tsunami in
Japan, we were unable to follow our normal schedule, delaying the
upgrade until this month.
The following domains are affected by this upgrade:
callapple.org (and all sub domains)
applearchives.com (and all sub domains)
eamonag.org
virtualapple.org
mecc.co
Items affected include the news articles, games, downloads and
A.P.P.L.E. member accounts. The Migration of the server is currently
underway and should actually complete within the next few hours,
however, it may take us a bit of time to tighten down the performance
of certain items, returning them to their original state.
This upgrade will allow us to add some new features including more
manuals online. The server we are putting in will have 4 x the memory
of the current one, quad core and will have enough HDD space to
accommodate us through 2014.
Questions concerning the upgrade can be addressed to me in gmail.
