Is there any card that can be installed in a //e or IIgs to provide a
firmware Integer BASIC interpreter?

Generally, loading it onto the top 12K of RAM is indistinguishable, from a
software standpoint... o.o;

Apple Firmware/ROM cards or my Brain Board (programmed with an Integer image) work on the IIe. However, the language card, if you need it, will not behave as expected, when used at the same time.

Just would like to not have to load it in at boot.

I've used the Apple ROM card with integer basic on it in a IIe. It
wouldn't work in a IIgs though.

How does the ROM card ROM get recognized over the motherboard ROM? Is
there a soft switch that needs to be accessed? Or is the ROM card
basically a ROM disk that gets booted?

It's a hard switch on the card that enables the ROM and causes /INH to be
pulled on access to it.
