Default Apple II Super Mouse by Shining

Any one ever heard of this mouse for the Apple IIe/IIc? I got it from
eBay and was hoping there would be documentation in the box but there
was none. It came from B&R Computer Services in San Diego. It's a two
button mouse and I'd really like to know more about it.

Thanks in Advance,
Dean

Tried doing a Google search for Shining Super Mouse and nothing turned
up.

My guess is... it's a no-name Taiwanese PC clone serial mouse.

You're probably right, David. In fact on the bottom it says made in
Taiwan. I was just curious if anyone might know anything about this.

What's really amusing here is you provided links to the auction I won.
So I've seen all that I was hoping to find some other information on
the mouse.

Yep, Taiwan was a popular place to make clone equipment of all sorts
back then. I don't think this mouse has anything whatever to do with
Apple... it's just a plain PC serial mouse, modeled on the Microsoft
mouse of the day.

I could be wrong - the auction said it was tested/working. It just
seems implausible that there would be a 2-button mouse for the II...

Especially since the Apple Mouse Interface only knows about one button, and
the pinout of the mouse port on the IIc and IIc Plus only shows one pin for
the button state.

Well believe it or not it is working with my Apple IIc, I've been
using it with Design Your Own Railroad. I've got a couple other
programs that will use a mouse so I'll bring thos into work, where my
IIc is set up, and see how it works with them.
